HISTORY OF CP&M
Community Planning & Management, P.C. (CP&M) came into being from the private community planning practice Patrick Sterling started in the late 1960's. Originally, the first form of the firm was a partnership located in Mt. Clemens, Michigan . With the addition of Dennis Meagher and other Professional Planners, a professional corporation was formed to provide more extensive experience in city, village, township, county and regional planning, urban redevelopment, and the procurement of State and Federal aid programs. This was achieved by bringing together the variety of talents and expertise of the principals and staff to serve our clients on an individual basis.
Today, as in the beginning, the primary purpose of Community Planning & Management, P.C. is to provide a full range of planning and development advisory services to meet the needs of the client brought about by change. Not immune to change itself, Community Planning & Management is always planning and equipping itself to better meet the needs of its clients with new and updated equipment and programs. CP&M's computer technology ranges from the simple storage of plans and ordinances to geographical information systems ( GIS )
to 3-D Modeling.
Finally, the professional planners of the firm are members of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the American Planning Association ( APA ), minor divisions of the APA , the Michigan Association of Planning, and are also licensed as Professional Community Planners within the State. These organizations and memberships signify CP&M's dedication to providing the best planners and services available to its clients.
